Job Vacancy: Private Client Lawyer

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist legal firm as a Full-Time Private Client Lawyer in our Tiverton office.

The law firm will provide all the tools and resources for an experienced Private Client Lawyer to handle a mixed and varied caseload including Wills and Probate, Court of Protection and Powers of Attorney.

The successful candidate may be either a fully qualified lawyer with at least two years’ recent PQE in Private Client work or a nonqualified legal professional with the equivalent relevant experience and expertise. You should demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Private Client work, good technical proficiency, strong attention to detail and at least two years current experience in dealing with Private Client work. Applicants must be self-motivated, and reliable and demonstrate a professional and conscientious approach to their work.

The successful candidate will be will carry their own caseload with relative autonomy and be responsible for the following:

– Attending to clients, providing clear and comprehensive advice and progressing each case.
– Ensuring that the conduct of client files is in accordance with all internal, professional conduct.
– To provide support and assistance to colleagues with overflow work within the department.
– To meet with clients and assess the firm’s ability to provide the services required, promptly responding to client communications and drafting necessary documentation.
– To provide accurate statutory interpretation and legal advice, taking into account relevant legislation, codes of practice and policy.
– To accurately time record and promptly and regularly bill for work done on the client’s behalf.
